Counterfeit Island
You will start out on the main street. Walk to your left, and you'll see a woman (for her description just look at the picture below) and talk to her. When you're done, jump up the top of the museum, but don't worry, you won't get in trouble for running on top of buildings. Find a scrap of paper placed conveniently on the very top of the museum. Anyways, the black-haired lady will tell you that the scream is going to be stolen tonight. And that we should leave it to the professionals. Oh please! I've caught the gang from wild west island, defeated Zeus... Oh never mind. Now let’s go for some coffee! Go right and go into the coffee shop. Open the dictionary, and you’ll find there's a loose page. Don’t question why it’s useful, just take it. (You can play a game here, the rules are easy, just don't let the blue and yellow boxes hit the wall.) Why don't we continue on. Go out and turn right until you find a clown shop. Go in and grab a balloon~ but take the GREEN one, no other colors, sorry other-color-lovers. Go out, go right, and click the trash can. Yes, now we get to do some dirty work... Search it for tickets. Go on when your done and enter the country side (meaning, just go right). You’ll find a crying kid, who’ll want a green balloon. Hand it over to him. And... oops… I guess there was too much helium in the balloon.... The boy flew away. Gosh, not only did you steal a page from a dictionary, but also made a kid float away. You’re a great poptropican. Make your way to the coffee shop, but before you go in, jump up onto the building, and hop around looking for another scrap of paper. Continue down to the coffee shop, and you'll notice the man from before watching the tv. Huh. I wonder where you know that boy from. Talk to him about the balloon boy and sooner or later he'll talk to you about missing tickets. Too bad we don't have them. Oh wait, we do. Go into your inventory and use the tickets you found in the trash. It's good he didn't ask were you got them from... so now we're going on a tour! Go right to the 'tour lady' and use your ticket to go into the tunnel! Yay, finally something fun! Unluckily, the tour itself was short and boring, for less of a better word. Well, climb up the lamp that’s somewhere in the middle of the tunnel the tour takes place in (there will be a paper waiting for you). Then you'll see a ladder somewhat at the end, but that wouldn’t interest you right now. To our surprise, there is a man waiting outside the tunnel… He’s clearly a sketchy, broke and suspicious man, but since when does your poptropican care about such things? Talk to him and he'll tell you the scream will be stolen soon, and if you ask who he is, he says he’s 'he who knows too much, the scream will be stolen' So for now we'll call him Hwktmtswbs for short (it’s still a long and complicated name, but at least there’s 28 letters less) He'll tell you to apply for a job in the museum and catch the thief. Let’s go! You have to go back to the museum, but before that collect another scrap of paper. Where is all this coming from!? Go left to the ship (after taking the paper over to your right that’s placed on the rock), and pick up yet another scrap of paper. Return to the museum, go in and ask if you can apply for a job. He'll tell us to speak with the assistant curator. Go up to the top and speak with him. He'll tell you he'll hire you if you help put the paintings in the correct wings. When you’re done, head over to the lab. Once inside, talk to the man, and then we can do some cool stuff ^^ Go up to the first stand when you're done chit-chatting and click it. Scan the pictures, and when you scan all of them click the one which had sketch lines. Next, use the magnifying glass to see the signatures up close, one will be fake. choose that one. Move onto the next station, were you get to use some chemicals. Just insert one of the color-testers into the bottle and click the right colors shown on the line. When you're done you'll get the keys to the supply room. Go through the statue room and past the security room, using the keys to open the door and take the last scrap of paper from the supply room. Exit and go to the man at the docks near the cave. Great. It's dark. How should I do anything at night? Night is for sleeping! Ah yes, I’ve seemed to have forgotten that Poptropicans are nocturnal. Or they’re vampires, and just don’t need sleep. Let's carry on. Go talk to the man, who broke into the gate and opened it for you. Ya, that's nice. Well, go in and go up the ladder you saw before. Click the picture that's on the door, and you'll see a face of a dragon and the paper we magically glued together, without using actual glue. So, make the puzzle thing identical to our drawing. When you’re done, click the button above the dragon. The hatch will slide open, and when you go up, you'll be in the storage room.... Now that you're inside, use your key to bust out. Wait for the security guard to be visible in the window, and run past when you can’t see her. Do this fast. Then enter the statue room, but don't get caught by the lights! Hide behind different statues to not get caught. When you get to the scream, click on it and everything will go on by its self- and our player gets the stupidest idea ever- to hide on top of the lamp and drop onto the thief when they come. That follows with an alarm going off. WE'RE INNOCENT!!!! (It's our poptropican that's guilty, it was their stupid idea not ours!) Ya, so now we're caught, but at least we're in the newspaper ^^ You’ll be asked a few questions. Answer truthfully and you’ll be alright. She'll say she knew you're innocent, because... the painting was stolen a while after you were arrested! Well, thank you for keeping us here anyway, police. Anyways, she'll tell you to meet her at the security office. Before you go there, enter the clown shop for a second and talk to the man, who’s sitting all depressed in the corner. It’s the museum guard. Ask when he left his post and what time the painting was stolen. He'll say he doesn't remember and just gives you his time card. From there, continue to the security office. Look at the time shown on the time card... …and oh my, the shady, broke and suspicious man from before shows up on the screen. Seeing as the police on this island have no idea who that man could be, it’s up to you to go around asking people if they’ve seen him (because this is a job for random nobodies who get hired a day before crimes occure. The police have better things to do). Go to the mimes outside the clown store, and ask them about the man. One will "play" a saxophone, so (obviously) go to the jazz club. You’ll see Hwktmtswbs standing by the backdoor. Sadly, he runs away on a scooter, triggering a minigame, with you chasing him on another scooter (you don’t have enough time to think about who you stole it from).
It ends with him dropping a key card with a black widow logo, before running away on a motorboat. Well, that was quite the adventure. Make your way to the museum and there will be a package for you. Auntie sent you another one of those packages? ...Never mind, it's a painting. Actually, it's Starry Night! Woah, awesome! Scan it to be sure it’s the real deal. …It obviously isn’t, but oh well. It says to meet someone at early poptropica island, in the museum. Why would auntie want to meet there? When you get there, you should see a woman dressed in purple wearing glasses... Okay, so it isn’t auntie after all. She'll tell you you're being watched (wow, that's new) and to take a key- there’s only one place we know of that we can use this- the cottage. Head back to counterfeit island and go to the place where we 'accidently' sent the boy flying, and go right, were you'll find a house. Use the key to get inside. Don't worry, this is only our fourth time doing something we’re not supposed to be doing. When we're inside, look around. Normal, boring house.... Even the painting looks bad. Oh, the painting’s peeling off a bit. Let’s rip it out of the frame without making sure it’s fake, ruining and art. Well, karma finally gets back at you, and you’re knocked out. --------- Oh, now, a cop ends up to being the Black Widow. You sit through some of her talk, before she leaves. You then learn Hwktmtswbs doesn't actually work for the Widow anymore. I still don't trust him, but our players do, so scoot over to him without falling (clicking from left to right). When you’re free, make your way to the right and go inside. This part is a little hard. Go all the way left, jump up and TRY NOT TO BE SEEN- jump up on the boxes, sneakily finding yourself behind the thief. Standing on the boxes, look to the right and wait for one of the henchman to get to the ledge and follow him to a couch, from there, jump up to you right, and use your key card to enter. When you go in, you'll pass a few stolen paintings, then walk into a room where you see Widow. She decides to destroy all the paintings and art the two of them stole.... because why not, it’s not like it would make you millions upon millions of coins. She screams at you, that you can't stop her, etc. the typical villain speech. That triggers a minigame, were you have to catch all the art, (you can drop max. 4-5, depends how much it's worth) but you can't lose more then 1 000 000 000$ and every 4 paintings/art dropped, she will do the mad emotion, then drop a bomb. While she does the mad emotion, go up and spin the wheel to get the man up to his ex-crim-partner, then hop away when she throws the bomb. Do that until it reaches the top, and then the man will stop her. You will then meet the real courier, and you'll go to the museum, were you'll find out the museum was just a cover for a place to hold all the most known paintings and art. Well, that's it, you got the medal. Good job. Go spend your coins in the shop~
